Metal Posters vol. 1

/ Posters!!! Whenever I feel lost in any regard, music is always the most powerful form of inspiration to get me back on track. Being a metalhead, I am always listening to music with a powerful sound. But when that intensity is matched with reflexive and passionate lyrics, it's a combination that strikes the soul.

/ Turning some of my favourite lyrics into a visual form only furthers the power of the music and the message. Having the potential to hang them on a wall to be a physical reminder of the songs' intent as well as a striking art piece is the  perfect marriage of music, typography and graphic art.
/ Having the option for borders, for printing and style alternatives, brings a different feel to the work without degrading emphasis
/ I love me some thick & geometric fonts! DDC Hardware from Aaron James Draplin was an instant favourite as soon as he released it. Simple, clean and BOLD. I like that. Brokenscript (Through Adobe Fonts) is a wonderfully balanced blackletter that shares in the simplicity and boldness that DDC provides, making them a fine and very pleasing pair :) +Blackletter is sooo metal
/ Balancing emphasis with a mix of filled and outlined words allowed for playing around with scale and quantity of text in a single space without looking like a total mess. Verticality of the background outlined words is a consistent theme between the posters, and provides massive scale respective to the main text.
/ August Burns Red. DVSR. Parkway Drive. All these bands I hold near and dear. From their respective sounds to the messages they convey, they have helped me to give form to the lessons I have learned in life. Calling upon the intensity of metal and the earnest nature of of the messages conveyed has always been a source of mental clarity for me.
